Hello all from Austin TX,
So i missed NEGATIVE APPROACH & ANTIDOTE on Saturday, I hope you all moshed like Gasface and had a good time. Also missed Manikin from Austin TX as well. And most of all i miss my better half. So with that said, i am chilling in TX. Sleeping on a righteous Air Mattress at a house full of great people. Eating to many tortilla chips. I did get to see THE BRAT from LA. Yup the one from the early 80's they were pretty rad. Also saw NO SLOGAN, VAASKA, DESKONOCIDOS, who are awesome.

With that being said, I'll be ready to get back to NYC/NJ on Sunday and look forward to some shows coming up and sleeping in a bed that is familiar:

NICK POOT BENEFIT

My friend NICK POOT who plays in Absurd System has recently become very sick. He has Hodgkin's lymphoma, witch is a form of cancer. He is one of the punkest dudes i know, and one with not alot of money as well. He has been in the hospital for a few weeks now and has recently started kemo.

His brother Jeff plays in Brain Killer and Whiches With Dicks, and him and a few others put together a benefit show for Nick at 538 Johnson in Brooklyn NY w/ BRAIN KILLER, WHICH ES WITH DICKS, STATE OF DECLINE & NOMOS on Friday November 13th @ 8pm. The show is $10, and it is for a good cause!!!

Nick is one of my best friends i have met through punk in NYC and it was very upsetting when i found out how sick he was. So please try to make it out to the show.

So our good pals IRON AGE from Austin TX will be playing NYC and Brooklyn this weekend. I really can't say enough great things about "THE SLEEPING EYE" LP. The record is a monster, ripping heads off hardcore kids everywhere.


First Iron Age show will be tomorrow at the CAKE SHOP with some great bands. WAR HUNGRY & MOTHER OF MERCY from PA are both great Hardcore Bands. I wanted Mother of Mercy to play the last Iron Age show in Brooklyn, but those bills were full. My dudes in War Hungry will be out to play and hang out as well. Love these guys. Brooklyn NY's own THRILLER will be opening the show. If you can stay punk playing hardcore then you have done something right. These guys are a perfect example. Saturday night, HARDCORE GIG VOLUME and CHRONIC YOUTH are getting together to celebrate CY's 1 year anniversary. This IRON AGE gig is going down at the Charleston. Hello All,

I have been laying low the past few weeks, had some family emergency & have spending my weekends and evening searching for a home with my fiance.

But Brooklyn & NYC have got some great shows coming up!

I'm going to see Motorhead on Wednesday at The Roseland. I'm stoked. Big shout out to Subway for hooking me and my delinquent friends up with $5 tickets. A lot of us trying to meet up in midtown and get ripped before Lemmy hits the stage.

The almighty SPITS are gracing our area with 2 shows. They are one of the best bands to see live. Great garage punk rock from the North West. They just dropped a new LP. September 11th they are playing the NEW Knitting Factory in Brooklyn.. (361 Metropolitan Ave @ Havemeyer) they are playing with the new SHEMPS band called The Heart Punchers. Also play is the Woven Bones & Cerebral Ballzy. And the SPITS are also playing the Cake Shop on September 12th. (152 Ludlow NYC) My favorite venue. They are playing with WOVEN BONES & THE LIQOUR STORE. Both gigs start at 8pm. Go to both of them crack a sixer in the alley because it feels so right!!!

Beav and Urban Blight have not played our area in some time. They have a new LP out on Slasher Records. Can't wait to see what Greg and Jimmy Rose have been up to with Short Dark Strangers. The songs i have heard from Flying T's have been great. Force Fed were pretty dope when i saw them with FP the other week in PA. Gonna be a great show, its been a slow august in terms of HC shows in NYC but this is going to be a good one. I know the beach may seem like a better idea but try to make it out.

So, it was less than a month ago i got the e-mail confirming this gig, not alot of time to get this show together but Andy and the rest of the folks at Studio B and R5 really helped me get this all banged out.

TRAGEDY hasn't played the area since their gig with Systematic Death last may, and i wouldn't expect to see them in these parts for a while. They are on their way to play some shows in Russia, so thanks to a lay over we all get to see them play on Sunday.

The bill is stacked! Something for everyone. MORNE from Boston are playing their first show in our area in a while. Eric from Parasitic has taken over drum duties but they are still the the most Brutal Curst band i have seen on the East Coast in some years. They have an LP coming out soon and will be heading to Europe very soon. PHILLY's BLACKLISTED are also playing, Dave Sausage what up? BRAIN HANDLE from PITTSBURGH are making up for the show they cancelled on my birthday, buy Ovens some Pizza. Opening this show is a band i have been lucky enough to see a few times now. BRAIN KILLER, straight up raw over the top raging hardcore punk. One of the best live bands i have seen in recent months. They just put out 2 records on Deranged Records, i suggest you check them out.

Punks Are Running Wild! Perdition tomorrow night in brooklyn!

Well another gig in the chute. Social Circkle gig was cool.They had a few traffic issues while getting to the gig. Dad was STOKED! SC played a few new songs off their LP that made its debut at No Way Fest in RVA. Take note: Nomos are killer, expect to see a lot from this band. Zombie dogs & Aerosols were a nice surprise as well. Thank you for the roomates at Loft # 210 for hosting and running the gig, I don't know what the local punk scene would do without nice people who let punk shows happen in their living room.

Well as I'm on the 7:09 midtown direct, tripin out to the new Paintbox LP I am looking forward to a lot of hc punk shows that are coming up. Not for everyone but Ted Leo is playing at maxwells, for those who don't know I was supper into teds prior bands so I'm very stoked to him and his band tonight. Bumbed I missed the gig at the spot in Karney NJ last night, but I needed a few days off.

Tuesday we have a pretty rad show at Death by audio. NYC favorite sons of punk are playing PERDITION, I hope these kids stay punk for ever because they are the perfect storm of what I want in a local punk band (minus not having gear sometimes). Locals Rabia will be playing as well and if you are into deep fried southern crust punk you will def dig on SKUDS & NUCLEAR BLAST SUNTAN. DBA is one of my fave venues in brooklyn so be nice to the people that work there
